Caltech Astro

The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is one of the premier scientific research institutions in the world, featuring researchers working on a variety of topics throughout the sciences. We are the scientists from the Department of Astronomy, happy to answer questions about astrophysics and space science.

Caltech Astro hosts an activity to build a mini-comet using household materials, and demonstrates a solar telescope to enable people to safely view the sun. Another demonstration will ignite marshmallows with solar radiation!
