Pasadena High School OMID for Girls Club

High school girls in the OMID organization are paired with girls in Afghanistan to tutor them in math.
Due to Taliban rule, girls in Afghanistan are now barred from attending school and restricted from participating in everyday activities such as leaving the house without a male guardian. Their education has been unfairly cut short, and they cannot achieve full potential because of their lack of access to academic resources. Thus, we aim to provide live math tutoring sessions to teenage and young adult females currently living in Afghanistan. By raising public awareness of the inequity in these girls' education, we hope to recruit volunteers and build a community to share hope and female empowerment.
Students will complete a few grade level math questions to get different small prizes.
